Description
This is a training activity that aims to provide communication and affective management skills to those professionals who work with elderly people. It is an approach from understanding the aging process from a positive vision, where aspects of personality and cognitive-emotional processes are worked on.
Objectives
Update knowledge about the influence of cognitive-emotional processes in the aging process.
Provide students with resources and management skills with the elderly from the understanding of emotions and cognitions.
Learning outcomes and type of achievement
Understanding cognitive-emotional changes in aging
Design of strategies to promote the well-being and quality of life of older people from the paradigm of active aging.
Access prerequisites and admission criteria
Professionals who work with elderly people interested in improving their knowledge and understanding and promoting their quality of life.
The admission criterion is the applicants' curriculum vitae, which will be evaluated by the management of the activity.
Required age: between 25 and 65 years old.
Level of learning experience according to EQF European Qualifications Framework
In the case of this training activity, as it is aimed at a very diverse student body, who can be placed in different access qualifications, it could be placed at level 5 of the European qualifications framework for lifelong learning.

Director of the Bilbao Medical Gazette. Vice President and Secretary of the UZTAI Foundation for the Promotion of Mental Health. Member of the Ethics Commission of the College of Physicians of Bizkaia (2005-2018). Member of different university, medical and medical education societies and commissions. Irrintzi Fernandez Aedo
I am a professional with extensive academic and scientific experience, with experience in publishing articles in journals indexed in the internationally recognized Journal Citation Reports (JCR), as well as authorship and co-authorship of specialized books in the field of health and nursing. I have actively participated in conferences and presentations, both national and international, disseminating advances in research and innovative practices in the area.

Naiara Fernández Gutiérrez
Graduated in medicine from the University of the Basque Country, specialized in geriatrics (MIR-Hospital Monte Naranco, Oviedo). His professional experience has been developed in geriatric doctor positions at Hospital Monte Naranco in Oviedo and in Residences of the Igurco Group (Bilbozar and currently in Orue). She carries out undergraduate and postgraduate teaching tasks at the University of the Basque Country in different categories: Faculty of Medicine teaching collaborator; Master's Training in Healthy Aging and Quality of Life; Master's Training in Palliative Care. He has attended different Geriatrics and Gerontology conferences and is a member of the IMQ Igurco Patient Safety Committee.

Tutor for Family and Community Medicine residents. Coordinator of the emergency course for primary care researchers at the OSI Bilbao-Basurto. Research activity and knowledge transfer primarily related to care for the elderly in Primary Care. Member of different societies, commissions and working groups related to primary care and care for the elderly. Member of the Research Network on Chronicity, Primary Care and Health Promotion (RICAPPS)” –RICORS- and the BIOCRUCES-Bizkaia Research Institute.
